In Equal-Life, we use the exposome concept to understand how external factors, social environment, and internal physical factors impact a child's development and mental health.

Here, you can find our history, results, and what we have learned and developed, which could help create more supportive environments for all children.

Studying the exposome for a healthier future for all children

Use our Guidebook to explore the concepts and definitions that will help you understand the exposome concept and its components.

What are the factors that influence mental health and cognitive development?

A mix of our genes, our experiences, and our environment influences mental health. The idea of the "exposome" looks at all the things we are exposed to from birth onwards and is becoming a key way to study how our surroundings affect our health.

Explorables
will bring you to our findings

We examine birth cohorts of over 250,000 children from seven different countries, as well as longitudinal school data sets and cross-sectional studies from four other countries.

To integrate and analyze data from many sources, our team of researchers has developed dedicated tools that are available to you.
