Participatory tools

We develop tools for participatory activities, frameworks, and guidance aimed at raising awareness about the exposome. These activities were conducted by our team during our stakeholder forums to inform, engage, and gather insights from stakeholders about our project and its goals.

Silent wall session

Objective: 

To conduct a democratic brainstorming session where all participants can share their ideas, opinions, and feelings equally and without verbal communication.

Preparation:

  • Read the Document: Ensure the trainer and participants understand the content of the document.

  • Select Participants: Include 6-20 participants.

  • Materials: Flipchart sheets, markers, tape or pins to hang sheets on the wall.



Case study simulation

Objective: 

To analyze the influence of exposome factors on childhood anxiety through the case study of Emily and develop interventions to mitigate these factors and improve mental health outcomes.

Preparation:

  • Read the Document: Ensure all participants read and understand Emily's case study.

  • Select Participants: IInclude mental health professionals, educators, environmental scientists, and community stakeholders.

  • Materials: Copies of the case study, flip charts, markers, sticky notes, and handouts summarizing exposome factors and potential interventions.



The transfer of scientific knowledge into policy action

Objective:
The activity aims to identify and address barriers that hinder the transfer of scientific knowledge into policy action, fostering better communication and collaboration between scientists and policymakers.

Preparation:

  • Read the Document: Ensure all participants read and understand the content of the document.

  • Select Participants: Include a mix of scientists, policymakers, and other relevant stakeholders.

  • Materials: Prepare copies of the document, flip charts, markers, and sticky notes.
